We’re thrilled to be welcoming Durban-based digital designer and illustrator Thulisizwe Mamba, a rising talent in the South African design world, to conduct a series of workshops with our partners at Ubuntu Youth. Thulisizwe is the founder of Less Studio & Co., a conceptual design studio that focuses on the acknowledgement of youth, documenting youth culture in South Africa and the internet as a form of creating.
Thulisizwe is leading a series of illustration-themed workshops every Saturday at the Ubuntu Youth Centre outside of Durban, South Africa. Thulisizwe’s opening workshop was the most well-attended Saturday event at the centre to date. One of the attendees, a young student who has been interested in drawing for awhile, said that he’s never felt as motivated as he did after the workshop.
Ubuntu Youth’s mission is to engage the next generation to fight poverty and a cycle of other escalating issues in Cottonlands, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Global Art & Design Project and Ubuntu Youth are aligned under the common goal to provide resources for advancement in areas that are typically overlooked in rural public schools.
